Bovitag
Bovitag ("we", "us", "our") operates the Bovitag mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We are committed to securing your data and ensuring transparency in all our processes.

- • Crash reports via Sentry (no personal data)

- • BLE connection data (kept strictly local)
- • Bluetooth is used only when you choose to connect an external RFID reader. Bovitag receives animal tag identifiers from the reader; it does not transmit personal data over Bluetooth.

Photos
Death evidence photos, if voluntarily attached. These are stored locally on the device and securely synced to our cloud storage when connected.
2. How We Use Your Information
Authentication & Access: Your email or phone number is used to create and manage your account. Phone numbers are used for access code-based registration and may be used for operational communications related to your account, security, or support.
Core functionality: Farm and animal data is stored locally on your device (SQLite) and synced to our cloud database (Supabase) so you can access your data across devices and recover it if your device is lost.
Crash reporting: Technical crash data is sent to Sentry to help us identify and fix bugs. Sentry is a third-party service — see their privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.
Offline-first operation: The App is designed to work without an internet connection. Data is stored locally first and synced securely when connectivity is available.
3. Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
All data is stored on-device in an encrypted SQLite database.
Cloud Sync
Data syncs to Supabase (hosted on AWS). Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Access Control
Row-level security ensures you only access data for farms you belong to.

We may share your personal information and animal data with service providers or third parties when needed to operate and improve Bovitag, provide support, comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or follow your instructions. We may also share information as part of a corporate transaction, asset sale, merger, acquisition, or business transfer. If in the future we use or share data for commercial purposes beyond those described in this policy, we will update this Privacy Policy and any applicable notices as appropriate.
5. Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active.

- Crash reports are securely retained by Sentry for 90 days.
